In preparation for higher search volumes leading up to Father’s Day, Microsoft Advertising Insights analyzed last year’s search and click trends. Third-party research indicates that over 1/3 of consumers plan to shop online this year, and greeting cards are expected to be the number one purchased item this Father’s Day.1 We found that queries containing “fathers day” spike on the holiday,2 and gift searches during the week of Father’s Day were most popular for females 35+.3

Clicks during last Father’s Day skewed toward activities, with Arts & Entertainment, Travel & Tourism, and Dining & Nightlife seeing the highest percentage change for clicks on the holiday.4 Local shopping also continues to trend; queries containing “shop local” grew 66% year-over-year in January.5

Capture this demand by implementing Location Targeting and showcasing your products to nearby shoppers with Local Inventory Ads.
